Trust The Potter

“THE WORD which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold he wrought a work on the wheels”.

Jeremiah 18:1-3

Ten years ago whilst attending college, I had a sudden urge to attend a pottery class. For the eight weeks I participated in this class, it was one of the most frustratingthings I had partook in. I was so annoyed by  the process  I refused to go and collect my pot. What I failed to recognise was that the next ten years I was about to be that clay. One of the things that frustrated me with the process was I kept having to start over again and again because air kept getting into the clay so every time my teacher tested the clay he would say start over- if I continued making the pot without removing the slit (air) from the clay, when the pot would be placed in the furnace, it would have exploded.

How many times have we gotten mad at God for allowing the setbacks and delays and the many situations that seemed as if they were sent to destroy us? I have had many arguments with the Holy Spirit but maturity stepped in and I realised that the process was necessary. God was never going to allow those situations to destroy me, they were sent to reveal the mess and impurities in me and to purge out the mess out of  me. Ten years later I am no longer murmuring at the pain or the circumstances that came against me. I am celebrating because those experiences has revealed my purpose, what the enemy meant for evil God turned it for my good.

A few points about the process

  • The process is your incubator- just like a womb- it’s dark but that’s where the baby receives his/her nutrients in order for growth to take place. The seed in its early stages  relies on the dirt to germinate. Your process is dark but have you not noticed how much you have grown? The process was not sent to kill you, it’s sent to form you into the man or woman who God has called you to be.
  • The Process Cultivates You for your Purpose- Just like Joseph, Esther, Ruth, David and Jesus, your process is leading you to purpose and destiny. Trust the process. God is getting ready to add purpose to your process. Joseph’s process led Him to becoming the prime minister over Egypt (Genesis 37-50), Esther’s process led her to becoming Queen and she saved her people from Genocide.  David’s process led him to becoming King over Israel (1Samuel 16), Ruth’s process of loss and grief led her to her Boaz. Jesus’s process led Him to saving the  whole world. His process led to salvation and the reconciliation of God and mankind. This leads me to the next point;
  • Your Process is never just about you- your process has the power to impact those who are around you . How you respond to your process determines the effectiveness of your purpose and ministry to those who you are sent to Impact.
  • The process is sent to purify you- just like gold, it is heated at the highest level to remove the impurities. The process is repeated until it is pure gold.
  • Your process is a vehicle that is transporting you to your place of purpose and destiny
  • Your process will eventually lead you to your place of promotion and wealth

It is my prayer that God will give you staying power to endure the process. You are going to come out as pure gold. Do not give up, you will reap if you don’t faint. (Galatians 6:9)

The Middle ManĀ

Each and everyone of you reading this article has a purpose and destiny. Your purpose and destiny is connected to someone else’s deliverance and breakthrough. Therefore you are someone’s Middle Man. You are someone’s missing piece to their life of jigsaws and puzzles- without you someone’s mission is delayed and they cannot move further until you take your rightful place. That is a responsibility that I sense for my own assignment, every time I allow myself to be distracted, I have delayed someone who is directly connected to me. The purpose and assignments that God has created you to fulfil is the answer to someone’s question and problem. In Genesis 24, we read about the Servant who received instructions from Abraham to find Isaac a wife. It was from this story where I received this inspiration and insight. The Servant received specific instructions from Abraham  and set himself on the journey to go and find a wide for Isaac. I want to encourage you that God has instructed someone to locate you to bless you. He has released your Middle Man to locate you but there is a posture that is required  of you as your Middle Man locates you.

  • Pray against the spirit of sabotage
  • Pray against distraction
  • Pray against the spirit of jealousy and competition
  • Pray against gossip and slander- 2Samuel 16- David came to bless Mephibosheth but in 2 Samuel 16, Ziba lied to King David and David gave all Mephibosheth’s inheritance to Ziba.
  • Pray that your Middle Man has a strong sense of Focus and that He will not be talked out of fulfilling His assignment concerning you.

What Can We Learn From The Servant In Genesis 24?

  • We see that the Eldest Servant receives an instruction from Abraham to go to his country and take a wife for Isaac. The servant had a heart to serve- based on his response I get the sense that the servant had a a strong level of loyalty towards Abraham (Genesis 24:9).
  • The Servant understood the weight of his assignment (Genesis 24:10-12)- The servant understood the power of prayer- He walked in the authority and favour of His master Abraham. The Servant was focused on His assignment- you see this in verse 12-14 when he prayed to God to help him make the right choice.
  • As a Middle Man, your heart has to be pure regarding your assignment, that is the only way you will see manifestation of provision regarding your assignment (vs 15-20).

The Servant’s name is not mentioned- this is to show the assignment of the middle man has nothing to do with the individual. It’s not about you it is about fulfilling God’s perfect will concerning the person who you are sent to.

It is my prayer that God will release your middle man and that you will also take your rightful place as you are also someone’s middle man. For full understanding of this topic, watch my periscope video on this subject;

No More Tight Shoes

As I was reflecting two weeks ago on the year 2016. I started talking to the Lord about relationships both business and personal that left me either confused or hurt. As I was speaking about the lessons I had learnt from those relationships, I heard His still small voice. “When you wear tight shoes, you will get corns on your toes” (gruesome but true). I asked the Lord to expand and He took me on a journey to discover what He meant.

The tight shoes represents relationships and environments- stop trying to fit into relationships and environments that do not have the capacity to accommodate you. The consequences of wearing tight shoes is that you get corns. When you get corns, you have to go through the painful process of getting that special blade to cut it down. I had it in 2009 it was awfully painful and I had to use that special blade. Before I got the blade I was using those cushions to make the pain less intense. That is what we sometimes do when we have tight shoes, we wear plasters and cushions to “ease the pain” that comes with tight shoes. This is what we do in “tight” relationships- we make excuses for them, we have hope that the day the shoe (relationship) will loosen to fit you. In this case you are more focused on the potential rather than the reality of the fact that it is too tight. Another fact about having corns- when you have them you cannot even wear the shoes that fit you without feeling excruciating pain.

Feet- represents your Destiny. Your destiny is the path you choose to take in order to fulfil your purpose. The choices you make in terms of your relationship has the ability to propel you to or delay you from your place of purpose.

Every time you allow the wrong people in your life- you run the risk of getting corns in your destiny. When the right people or opportunities show up, it hurts too much to enjoy what God has prepared for you. So a word of advice for 2017, stay away from relationships, opportunities and environments that have shown themselves to be too “small” to accommodate you. This is your year to soar like an eagle.
God bless you all and thank you for reading.

Watch Out For The Whirlpools

The last seven days I have been seeing whirlpools in my spirit so I have to be obedient and  share with you. I know this is a warning for me as well but I have also been speaking to friends who have been experiencing similar things. Last week I saw whirlpools but I saw doors as well and when these doors are opened what are behind these doors are whirlpools.

Let me explain

Ever noticed that there are certain situations that happen every year at the same time and season? This is also known as cycles. What I see are subtle situations that will arise that will try to suck you into these vicious cycles. I did a little research on whirlpools and what I found was very interesting. Whirlpools occur when two opposing currents meet. They cause the water to spin round and round very rapidly. It is said if a person is caught up in a whirlpool at sea it is normally too powerful to swim out of and as a result most people drown. But there are others who have written that the main reason why people die from being sucked into scary whirlpools and undercurrents is FEAR. Some of you are on the brink of a major breakthrough and these hidden whirlpools will appear to try to delay your breakthrough. Right now your past and your future is fighting for you and that’s why you may be experiencing storms or these whirlpools. Your past and your future has now come face to face, you’re about to crossover but the past is fighting to keep you where you are by presenting these “doors” of opportunities. (I almost fell into one a few days ago, it looked like a good opportunity but it was a trap of the enemy but I thank God for making a way of escape).

The recurring image I keep seeing is the door being opened and these whirlpools are appearing. Becareful  of conversations, becareful of  good”opportunities” which aren’t necessarily God opportunities. Becareful of that ex girlfriend or ex boyfriend. Watch out for that same emotional battle that appears around this time of the year. Watch out for that temptation that has been repackaged but it’s the same thing that tried to take you out last year. For those who feel like they are constantly getting caught up in a cycle I want to encourage you from 1Corinthians 10:13

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”.

How do you prevent entering into cycles

1) Be Vigilant- In 1Peter 5:8 we are encouraged to be sober and to be vigilant because our adversary the devil as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour.

2) Put on the whole armour- Ephesians 6:12-18- cover yourself in prayer, read the word of God, walk in the truth of God’s word and confess the word of truth over your life daily.

3) Be  Discerning – Trust the leading of the Holy Spirit, if something doesn’t sit right with you, follow the leading of the Holy Ghost.

Philippians 1:9-10, Proverbs 15:21

4) Say no to the cycle- James 4:7- “Resist the devil and he will flee from you”.

5) Guard the gates to your soul- Matthew 5:28-30

Anything that is in your life that is hindering you from your next season, cut it off.

It is my prayer that you will be vigilant in this season. I pray that God will give you insight and discernment and that you will be able to discern when these situations arise to suck you into a “spiritual whirlpool”. Your destiny is great and your future is bright.

God bless you and thank you for reading.

Trust God & Wait

Waiting is something that most people including me hate to do. Last Friday and Saturday God used two events to teach me the importance of waiting. I was rushing to get to an event on Friday and Saturday. When I got there even though I was late,  both events had not started.

Lesson- You are in a rush to get to a place, opportunity or a person that is not yet prepared to accommodate you.

God brought back to me the example of  the ackee (Jamaican National Fruit). If you force it to open, it will poison you upon consumption. Anything that is gained before the right timing, it will hurt you. Watch the following link below to understand the importance of waiting.
