The Power of Stillness

Last night’s live, the Lord taught us about the power of practicing stillness.

Before I started teaching on stillness, the Lord released me to share a few prophetic points.

In this season, God is pruning both the productive and the unproductive. The purpose of the pruning process is to make the tree bear more fruit. John 15:2 says, “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth, that it may bring forth more fruit”.

This scripture is focused on everyone who is in Christ. Whether you are fruitful or fruitless, the pruning process is necessary. As long as you are in Christ, the pruning process is inevitable. The more you produce, the more eligible you become for the pruning process. The unproductive areas of your life are also being pruned by the Lord.  

The next thing the Lord released was to those who are experiencing warfare. The warfare you are facing is due to the discovery you have made or the discovery you are about to make. Daniel 10 shows us this. Daniel experienced a delay in the spirit when he positioned himself in prayer and fasting to receive the answer and interpretation to a vision he had.  Gabriel experienced warfare where the principality of Persia withstood him. It took Michael to help Gabriel in Daniel 10:12-13. Gabriel told Daniel in vs 12 that from “the first day he set his heart to understand,” he had come for his words.

Be encouraged because what you are facing is a result of what you discovered or what you are about to discover.

God is calling us to silence the noise in our minds and be still in His presence. You see, it is in His presence where we become still, and it is in that moment that God gets to download His blueprint and release destiny to you.

The definition of stillness is the absence of movement or sound.

In the first clause of Psalm 46:10, it says to “Be still and know that I am God”.  

Here are a few key points on stillness.

  • Stillness makes way for restoration- Psalm 23: 2-3
  • It’s in our stillness where God does His greatest work – Exodus 14:13-31
  • Stillness is a quality of emotion that invites the power of God’s presence in your life- Psalm 94:19

There are psychological benefits of stillness:

  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Improving mental clarity
  • Enhancing self-awareness
  • Boosts creativity
  • Promotes mindfulness
  • Improves sleep
  • Strengthens a deeper connection with oneself and others

Stillness requires a certain posture. I shared the story of when I fractured my arm a few years ago. When the cast was applied to my arm, I was instructed by the orthopaedic doctor that I needed to keep that arm still and try not to move it too much. I did not heed that advice, and my healing process was prolonged by an additional two weeks, so instead of four weeks, it was six weeks. Every time you forsake your moments of stillness, you prolong the pain and your healing process.

There are miracles, blessings, and breakthroughs that God wants to manifest in your life, but you have to be still. Being too busy and not focused will cause you to miss what God is trying to do in this season.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I honour you and I magnify Your Holy Name. Father, in the name of Jesus, silence the noise in my mind so that I can sense, see, and hear You. Father God, diminish, demolish, and destroy every distraction in my life that tries to stop me from entering a place of stillness in You. Father, release a fresh anointing upon me to be still. Help me not to look to the left or the right. Help me not to be hasty and help me to look to You and You alone in Jesus’ Name, I pray, amen.

Garments of Favour

Welcome to the new month of May. I believe we have entered a season of divine favour where we will have what we say.

Zechariah 1v1-3 shows us a picture of Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose. According to Haggai 1v1, Joshua was the high priest at the time. Zechariah had a vision of Joshua standing before the Lord, and he was clothed with filthy garments. Joshua was a ministering priest. Satan was accusing Joshua of being unfit to minister before the Lord as a high priest due to his filthy clothes.

Isn’t it like the enemy to accuse you as you step out to become everything that God has ordained and called you to be? The name Satan means adversary or opponent, and he stands against us as the people of God in every spiritual battle Ephesians 6:10-18.

The Angel of the Lord, who we know is Jesus, rebukes Satan and exercises authority. There is a perimeter set for the enemy to harass, accuse and attack God’s people but God always strictly regulates what he is allowed to do and how far he can go, as per Job in Job 1:12.

Zechariah 3:1-3 is a clear picture of what takes place in the courts of heaven. I have been hearing that the “court is in session”. In this season, God is granting us new garments just like He did in Zechariah 3. In verse 2, the Lord speaks of Joshua the High Priest: “is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?”.

A brand was a burnt, burning or smouldering piece of wood- it is like a campfire with a blackened, charred chunk of wood smoking in the ashes- it is not worth much at all and will be consumed completely if not plucked from the fire. The Lord was telling Satan that he chose Joshua Himself, and that is where Joshua’s worth lies, not in his garment.

In Zechariah 3v4-5, we see Joshua’s iniquity removed and he is given clean garments. The Hebrew word for filthy is the strongest expression in the Hebrew language and means the most vile and loathsome character. In verse 4, Joshua receives a new garment, which is the main focus of this blog. Joshua’s iniquity was removed, and he was given a “change of raiment”. In verse 5, Joshua received a “fair mitre” upon his head, which meant a clean turban. The turban was part of the high priest’s garments, and on the front, it had a gold plate inscribed with the phrase “Holiness to the Lord”, which can be found in Exodus 28:36-38.

I believe that for the last couple of years, the enemy has fought the people of God. I sense God is judging everything the enemy has done from the last season, and he is restoring old filthy garments for new garments and crowning his people as a symbol of the royal status we have acquired through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Lord is rebuking the enemy on your behalf. Walk in your new garments of favour.

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for every person who is facing a battle of unworthiness and is constantly being harassed by the accusations of the enemy. Father, I pray that you will restore the person reading this right now, and may you wash them with the blood of Jesus Christ. Lord, I ask that you remove the garments of disfavour and release the garments of favour upon your people, Oh Lord. Father, crown your sons and daughters with the turban of favour according to Zechariah 3:1-5, and every weapon being formed against your people, Lord, I decree and declare that the weapons will not prosper. Every tongue that rises against your people in judgment, I condemn it now in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, I thank You that we already have the victory in Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.

Broken Engagement! Revived Destiny

Almost five years ago, after believing God privately for my spouse, I met the man I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. It was a whirlwind romance and within just over two months of dating, I heard the question I have been waiting to hear since I was 17 years old (that was when I received the first prophecy about my marriage) “Will You Marry Me”.

It was the ring I had dreamt about. Everything seemed to feel like a dream. A year later, my dream turned into a nightmare; everything that could go wrong started to go wrong.

I tried my hardest to make it work. I heard various counsels from trusted leaders and mentors, and every time there was an argument, the focus was always on what I had to do to improve the relationship. I had to adjust my attitude and stop letting my emotions take over, but little did I know, it was my intuition and the Holy Spirit all along, guiding me to realize that if I didn’t walk away, my destiny was on the brink of being derailed.

In September 2022, I made the decision, after being ghosted for the third time, that I deserved better, and I would rather have a broken engagement than a broken destiny. I ended the relationship and moved on with my life. I realised I was courting a person with narcissistic tendencies. I realised it was my very idolatry of marriage that manifested this awful encounter. In the first four weeks of being single and without a ring, I realised that God allowed my plans to be wrecked before my plans wrecked me. It was indeed His mercy that rescued me from a lifetime of misery and unhappiness.

Unfortunately, this heartbreak opened me up to a grief I could hardly explain or process, so I just delved into another relationship, which also proposed the intention of marriage. That too, ended awfully, and it led me to my journey of healing. I recognised that my obsession with the ‘prophetic words I received in my 20s created a false hope, which allowed the enemy to create a counterfeit reality of what I thought was the manifested word over my life.

Tonight, I decided this was the time, after six years of silence on this platform, to share my story, not for pity but to encourage my single sisters and brothers to wait patiently on the Lord. Do not rush to create a manifested reality in your life. The process God has you on is so necessary for the promise that He has already prepared for you. A year and four months after the last breakup, I can say I have been revived and my purpose is restored. There is a revival in my soul, and I know that this resurrection of my identity and purpose is so that I can help another woman to walk through the pain of a broken engagement or relationship. There is life after the breakup. There is hope after a broken heart.

In this season of my life, I can breathe again, I am dreaming again and my hope is restored. Through everything, I can see God’s hand protecting me even when I went against my intuition and against His holy promptings, He still walked through every painful phase of the last four years with me.

Prayer: Father, I commit the person reading this blog before you right now in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I commit their hearts into your hands, and I pray that you will mend every broken heart. I pray that you will breathe life into every hopeless area of their lives and may they find the courage to dream again. Revive their hearts again from the bitterness and anger stemming from their broken relationship. Purge their hearts with your blood, Lord Jesus. Uproot grief and release hope, joy, and strength in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, give your son/daughter beauty for ashes in Jesus’ Name I pray amen.
