Your Disadvantage is God’s Advantage

On last night’s live broadcast, the focus was on ‘your disadvantage is God’s advantage.

The scripture was taken from Judges 3:15-20. This story covers Ehud, who was a Judge over Israel. He was described as one who was left-handed. In that day and time, those who were left-handed were from the Benjamite tribe and also deemed as societally abnormal. Nevertheless, God used what was deemed a disadvantage or disability to release the Israelites from captivity. Because Ehud was left-handed, he carried his dagger on his right thigh. In those times, the King’s men and guards would always search the left side of those who would go before the King, as they were right-handed. So, Ehud, being left-handed, whilst he was at a disadvantage societally,  was able to conceal the weapon which would be used to take down the enemy, the King of Moab.

What is that thing in your life right now that looks like a disadvantage?

The Lord is saying that He is using your disadvantage for His advantage, and He is going to get the glory out of your circumstance. During the live session, I was reminded, and I had to encourage you with it that, according to Romans 8:28, all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Remember the thorn in Paul’s flesh in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, Paul asked for the thorn to be removed three times, but God reminded him that His grace is sufficient for him and that God’s power is perfected in his (Paul’s) weakness.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, I thank You that You are using my disadvantage for Your advantage. Heavenly Father, I commit the areas of my life that require Your grace, and I ask that Your power be perfected in my weakness just like Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-9. Father, I thank You that all things are working together for my good according to Romans 8:28, and I thank You that what society has deemed abnormal in my life, You are using that for Your glory in Jesus’ Name I pray, amen. Lord help me to see myself the way You see me, and I thank You that where I have been rejected, You are redirecting me now in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
