Eagles Arise

Thursday night’s live was empowering and powerful. I taught from chapter two of my book ‘Transition: How to Get From Here to A Place Called There’. I shared a few nuggets on the eagle and why those who wait upon the Lord is likened to an Eagle in Isaiah 40:31.

Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.

Why the Eagle?

Eagles go through a process called metamorphosis. At around the age of 30, an eagle comes to a point in its life where nothing works, and its physical body condition deteriorates fast, making it difficult to survive. The eagle retreats to the mountaintop and, over five months, goes through a painful process called metamorphosis. Here, the eagle knocks off its beak by banging it against a rock. The eagle starts to rip out its talons and feathers until it falls off, and it sits there and waits until everything grows back. The eagle is renewed and has another thirty to forty years added to its life.

It is in your waiting that you are renewed and gain strength. I thought it was interesting how the wings of eagles are mentioned in verse 31. In the wings of an eagle, there are pockets of oil. As they mount up in the air, the oil pockets in their wings are what fuel their flight into the air.

Here are a few key facts on the eagle:

1 Eagles are fearless- eagles will never surrender to the size or strength of their prey.

2 Eagles are tenacious- other birds fly away from the storm with fear, but an eagle spreads its mighty wings and uses the current to soar to greater heights.

3 Eagles are high flyers- eagles can fly up to an altitude of 10,000 feet, but they can swiftly land on the ground.

4 Eagles possess vitality- eagles are full of life and are visionary

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray, renew my strength as I wait upon you. Release the eagle-like anointing upon life, refresh me for higher altitudes in my purpose towards and may Your name be glorified as I arise in purpose and destiny in Jesus’ name, Amen.
