Your Confidence Will Yield A Reward

Last Thursday’s broadcast, the focus was on the importance of not casting away one’s confidence according to Hebrews 10:35: “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward”.

Confidence in the Greek is parrhesia, which means outspokenness (according to Acts 4:13) and boldness of speech (in 2 Corinthians 7:4). Your confidence in God is a reflection of your faith in God. Faith in Hebrews 11:1 is defined as “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Throughout the years, God has made it clear to me that faith is never embarrassed.

Faith is always rewarded. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “without faith, it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. When you seek God in faith, there is a reward that is released to you in due time and season. In this season, the Lord is rewarding those who remain confident in Him.

Increased competence leads to confidence. When someone keeps showing up for you over and over again, your confidence in the skills and abilities of that person increases. We know, according to the scriptures, we are not to put our confidence in man- this is just a mere example.

It is the same for God. As He keeps showing up for us over and over again, it increases our confidence in Him. I want to encourage you to go back to your memory, how many times have God shown up for you? Those memories of how many times God has given you victory are what yield your confidence in God, which in turn yields the reward. Remain confident in God, and in due time, your confidence will yield a reward.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray. Father, help me not to lose my confidence in you. Lord, empower my faith in You. Lord, I ask that You increase my confidence in You. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. I thank You that my confidence is yielding a great reward. Father, I thank You that You have heard my prayer in Jesus’ Name. Amen
