Feeling Apathetic?

Last night’s broadcast, I dealt with the topic ‘Apathy’.

For most of July, I have been hearing the word ‘apathy’ in my spirit.

What is Apathy?

Apathy means a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern. It describes an emotional state where a person feels indifferent or unmotivated toward things that usually evoke interest or passion.

I decided to do research on what apathy is and how to overcome apathy as a believer of Jesus Christ.

What are some of the factors that lead to apathy in the life of the believer?

1. Emotional Burnout

When you’re mentally or emotionally exhausted, your body and mind shut down as a defence mechanism.
Common in caregivers, leaders, students, or those facing prolonged stress.

Warning signs: Feeling numb, drained, or uninterested in things you once enjoyed.

2. Depression or Anxiety

Apathy is a hallmark of clinical depression. You may stop caring because you’re overwhelmed by hopelessness, fear, or fatigue.

Example: “Why bother?” becomes a recurring thought.

3. Prolonged Disappointment

When you face repeated failure, unanswered prayers, or long seasons of waiting, apathy can grow out of frustration or loss of hope.

Proverbs 13:12 – “Hope deferred makes the heart sick…”

4. Overstimulation & Distraction

Constant scrolling, multitasking, and entertainment overload can numb your senses and make you disengaged from reality and purpose.

Example: A cluttered mind can’t hear God’s voice clearly.

5. Unresolved Sin or Guilt

Hidden sin, shame, or spiritual compromise can create distance between you and God, leading to spiritual apathy.

Isaiah 59:2 – “Your iniquities have separated you from your God…”

How can you overcome the spirit of apathy? Here are a few strategies that can help you overcome apathy;

1. Ask God to Renew Your Heart

Apathy often comes from spiritual dryness. The first step is to ask God to revive you.

Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Practical step: Pray honestly, asking God to restore your passion, joy, and desire for Him.

2. Remember Your First Love

Apathy can come when our love for God fades. Jesus calls us to return to our first love.

Revelation 2:4-5 – “You have abandoned the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”

Practical step: Reflect on the time when you felt close to God. What were you doing then? Return to those habits (e.g. prayer, worship, fellowship).

3. Feed Your Spirit Daily

Just as we eat to stay alive, we must feed on God’s Word to stay spiritually awake.

Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Practical step: Set aside time daily for Scripture reading—even 10 minutes. Let God speak to you through His Word.

4. Take Action in Faith

Apathy thrives on passivity. Faith requires action.

James 2:17 – “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

Practical step: Serve someone, encourage a friend, attend a small group, or volunteer. Action stirs the heart and awakens purpose.

5. Surround Yourself with Spiritual Encouragement

Isolation fuels apathy. Fellowship rekindles fire.

Hebrews 10:24–25 – “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together…”

Practical step: Stay connected to your church, a prayer group, or trusted spiritual friends who uplift you. If your circle isn’t uplifting you, maybe it is time to think of shifting to new environments as God will lead you.

6. Fix Your Eyes on Eternity

Apathy grows when we lose sight of what truly matters. Focusing on eternity brings perspective.

Colossians 3:2 – “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

Practical step: Journal or reflect on God’s purpose for your life and how He wants to use you.

A Prayer to Break Apathy:

Father in the name of Jesus, I honour, and I praise your mighty name. Heavenly Father, I confess my heart has grown dull and distant. Father, I ask that You reignite my passion for You and the purpose that You have called me to. Create in me a clean heart, oh Lord, and renew a right spirit within me, and restore my joy. I choose to seek You with all my heart. Father, I repent for turning away from You. Heavenly Father, I pray that You will restore my heart from deferred hope and help me regain a Godly perspective concerning the vision You have given me in Jesus’ name. I thank You Lord for hearing my prayers in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Hallelujah!!!!

The Power of Laughter

Last night I spoke about the power of laughter. Laughter is a strategy and can be an effective weapon while going through warfare. Psalm 126:1 says, “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter…” God is filling our hearts with laughter in this season.

In Psalm 126:1-6, after 70 years of exile in Babylon, the Israelites were allowed to return to Jerusalem (around 538 BC) when King Cyrus of Persia issued a decree. This was a fulfilment of God’s promises and a turning point in Israel’s history. This scripture reflects on the following themes;

Deliverance
Restoration
Joy
Gratitude
Hope

Last night, I discussed a few benefits of laughter as per the scriptures.

Laughter brings healing and restoration – Proverbs 17:22 says that “a merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones”. Laughter and joy has the ability to uplift your spirit, reduce stress, and even improve physical health- just like good medicine.

Laughter reflects God’s blessing and restoration- Psalm 126:2 says “then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them”. Laughter has been found to be a sign of God’s deliverance and faithfulness which expresses one’s deep gratitude and joy after hardship.

Laughter is a sign of joy and abundance- In Genesis 21:6 “And Sarah said God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me”. What God is getting ready to do in your life, will not only bring your laughter and joy- it will bring those who are close to you great joy too. The laughter that is coming is coming from both expected and unexpected blessings which will serve as a testimony of God’s goodness to others.

Laughter builds strength through joy- Nehemiah 8:10 says “do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength”- this shows that joy which leads to laughter is a source of spiritual strength.

Laughter defies fear and anxiety- Proverbs 31:25 states, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come”. Laughter is a reflection of your confidence and trust in God’s future, even in uncertain times.

Laughter helps build community and connection – Though there is no record of Jesus laughing in the scriptures, Jesus’ life and ministry created joyful relationships and restoration amongst those He encountered.

God rejoices- In Zephaniah 3:17, it shows us that God rejoices over us, His people: “The Lord your God is with you…. He will take great delight in you….. He will rejoice over you with singing”. In Romans 14:17, Paul defines the Kingdom of God- “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

So when you walk in joy ad peace, you are exercising the Kingdom of God on Earth.

I had to research the psychological and health benefits of laughter, and I was intrigued by what I found.

Laughter reduces stress and anxiety- laughter lowers the level of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which helps the body to relax and calm the mind. Deep laughter triggers physical relaxation that can last for up to 45 minutes afterwards.

Laughter elevates mood- laughter boosts the release of endorphins (the body’s feel-good chemicals), similar to a natural antidepressant. Laughter helps to combat depression and improves overall mood and outlook on life. I encouraged viewers yesterday to force laughter even when they don’t feel like laughing- Research shows that forced laughter can eventually lead to genuine mood improvement.

Laughter enhances resilience and coping- research has shown that people who laugh more often tend to be more resilient in the face of adversity. Laughter provides psychological distance from problems, making them seem more manageable, and helps us reframe challenges with a lighter, more optimistic perspective.

Laughter strengthens social bonds- laughter is socially contagious and builds connection and trust between people. Laughter can enhance empathy, reduce social anxiety, and increase a sense of belonging.

Laughter improves cognitive function- humour and laughter engage multiple areas of the brain, supporting mental flexibility and creativity. Laughter helps with problem-solving, creative thinking, and learning. Laughter stimulates both sides of the brain, encouraging better information retention.

Laughter provides a safe, non-threatening outlet to express deep or suppressed emotions. Laughter acts like an emotional reset, helping to release built-up tension or sadness.

Laughter encourages mindfulness and present-moment awareness- laughter draws your attention into the now, interrupting rumination and negative thought cycles. Laughter helps to break patterns of worry and promotes psychological presence.

Laughter boosts self-esteem and optimism- research has found that people with a healthy sense of humour often have higher self-worth and are more hopeful. Laughter supports a more positive self-image and encourages a growth mindset.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I honour You, Lord and Your presence. Father, I invite your joy and laughter into my life. As I have learnt that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, Lord, activate the Kingdom of God in my life. Anoint me with the oil of gladness and let joy and laughter be my portion for the rest of my days in Jesus’ mighty Name, I pray, Amen and Amen.

Come On Home

Last night’s live broadcast was so powerful, I am truly moved by the messages I received from those who watched live and the replay.

Last night’s message focused on the prodigal son from Luke 15:11-23.

Before I started teaching, the Lord laid it on my heart to encourage the hearts of the people watching live and for those who will watch the replay. I felt a weight and burden for those who felt like they were breaking down, but the Lord gave me the word during the opening prayer, and that was “you’re not breaking down, you’re breaking through”.

In Luke 15:11-23, we read about two brothers, and the younger brother said to his father in verse 12, ” Father, give the portion of goods that falleth to me”. He was asking for his inheritance. An inheritance is only made available when the testator is dead, so in other words, he was telling his father, ‘I wish you were dead,’ which was a level of dishonour in the eyes of his community.

As we read on, we see the decline in his inheritance, identity, and dignity from verses 13-16. Here are a few principles I took from this parable of Jesus to His disciples about the prodigal son.

When inheritance precedes process, it will always get wasted. It is in the process that maintenance is taught- vs 13- the prodigal son went into a far country and wasted his substance with “riotous” living- riotous in the Greek is “asotos”, which means to live ruinously. His ruinous life brought waste to his inheritance.

2. He lost his identity and became a slave to someone else’s environment – vs 14-15.

3. The prodigal son’s identity was tied to his inheritance- I am not just talking about the physical aspect of the inheritance. He carried a spiritual inheritance, and as long as he remained close to his father, there was a divine protection around him that kept him in the blessing. The minute he left that boundary, he became susceptible to the enemy’s blueprint for his life.

4. He went to a far country- the bible does not specify where he travelled to, but he was far away from home, which led to his ruinous lifestyle.

5. He lost his dignity, forgot his identity and joined himself to a native of that country and was sent to feed the wine- in the Jewish culture, that was the lowest form of employment. It was considered degrading to be near pigs. According to Jewish customs, it is unlawful for a man to eat or even touch a pig (Leviticus 11:7).

6. He came to himself- he had gotten to such a low place- the lack and suffering brought him to a place of conviction and resolve- vs 15-16.

7. What you do with the revelation of your perception is what determines your deliverance and breakthrough.

8. The young son arose in vs 20- he came to a place of decision making- your deliverance starts with your decision. In other words, you are one decision away from your deliverance.

9. His father saw him from a far off, had compassion and ran to him- I explained in the live broadcast last night that for a Jewish man to lift his tunic and show his feet and run, he actually degraded himself based on the status he had to go and get his son. In verse 20, this is two fold- it is a picture of what Jesus was getting ready to do on the cross. This son’s decision to humble himself and return, stirred up the father’s love for him. Because of the dishonour, he was actually guilty and was to be stoned by the community. So, his father’s running to him sent a direct message to the community that all was forgiven.

10. In verse 22, we see three-dimensional restoration to the son. The father commanded the servants to bring the best robe, which represents his mantle and glory- his honour was being restored. Secondly, the father put a ring on his finger, his authority was being restored, and finally he told the servants to put shoes on his feet, this was the restoration of his freedom and his deliverance from being a slave and rebecoming a son again. This is what it looks like when God restores us from sin.

The message of this blog and the live broadcast is simply to come home to the Father. God is waiting for you to come home and be restored back to your rightful place. This message was two-fold, whilst I was speaking to those in the world, this message was also for those who thought they hadn’t left home, they are still having an identity issue and have drifted far away from the position God has them. God is saying, “Come Back Home”. Come into alignment with what He has for you.

Something I just sensed that I didn’t mention last night, the elder brother also had an identity issue. He failed to realise the position he held in his father’s house, so he got jealous of the younger brother’s celebration in verses 25-32.

I want to encourage you if you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, come to Him now. Your three-dimensional restoration awaits you.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I invite You into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Father, I pray just like the prodigal son, when he came to himself, Lord, I recognise the mess I have been in. Lord, deliver me from the “pig-stye” lifestyle. Lord, restore the identity you have for me in me and take away the identity the enemy has projected onto me through sin. Lord, I thank You for the restoration. I thank You, Lord, for redeeming the time lost as a result of rebellion and disobedience. Heavenly Father, I ask You to please wash me in Your love, peace and joy. Father, just like You did for the prodigal son, Lord, restore my authority, my mantle and my destiny in You in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Your Obedience Carries A Sound

Last night’s live, I focused on the importance of pivoting in this season. The word pivot has different meanings depending on the context. The general meaning of a pivot is a fixed point that something turns or rotates around. From a business context, to pivot, means to change direction or strategy in response to circumstances. To pivot is a change in focus or direction.

The lepers were a people who, because of the condition they dealt with in their bodies, society ostracised them and considered them unclean, so they lived at the entrance of their gate to Samaria (vs3).

The pivot of the four lepers started with a decision

They rose at twilight, just after sunset or sunrise. In the live video, I said midnight, so I would like to correct that error here.

As they stepped out by faith, God amplified the sound of their footsteps

Because of their pivot, a whole nation ate (vs 8-18)- this pivotal decision and risk made by the lepers was on the back of the poverty the nation was experiencing at the time. Read 2 Kings 6 to gain more clarity.

To pivot, you have to have a transformed mind (Romans 12:2)

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You, Lord, to empower me to obey Your instructions concerning my purpose and destiny in You. Lord, help me to understand that by faith, as I step out, you are amplifying my footsteps. Lord, lead me to the place of provision that those in my vicinity and proximity will be blessed. Father, I thank You for hearing me and for blessing me. Father, I repent of every disobedience. Lord, I ask for your mercy to realign me with my destiny in you, and where I have missed out on breakthroughs because I refused to pivot. Lord, I recall the opportunity and moment for me to pivot in Jesus’ Name, I pray, amen.

God’s Outcome- Part 2

On last night’s live, I continued exploring the meaning of God’s outcome and what it means to understand the difference between God’s perfect will, His general will, and God’s permissive will.

God’s perfect will, general will, and permissive will are theological categories that are used to understand how God relates to our choices, His divine sovereignty, and moral guidance. We see the perfect will of God in the scriptures, but the terms general and permissive will have not been seen in the scriptures; however, some scriptures clearly explain and define the difference between the three wills of God.

1 God’s Perfect Will

God’s perfect will refers to His ideal plan, desire, and sovereign intention for creation and individuals. God’s perfect will is always good, flawless, and unchanging. It reflects God’s best for us, which aligns perfectly with His holiness and purpose.

Romans 12:2 says:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.

Romans 12:1-2 shows us six things that constitute the perfect will of God in our lives;

1 Present your bodies as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 6:20).

2 Make the body holy (Romans 12:1; 2 Corinthians 7:1)

3 Make yourself acceptable to God (Romans 12:1)

4 Render reasonable service (Romans 12:1)

5 Be not conformed to the world (Romans 12:2)

6 Be transformed from the world (Romans 12:2)

The Greek word for “perfect” in Romans 12:2 is teleios, which translates as “that which has reached its end; nothing more to complete it”. When it comes to the perfect will of God concerning your life, there is a completion. When God’s perfect will is done in your life, there is nothing more to add or take away. It’s all complete.

Other scriptures to study the perfect will of God are Ephesians 1:4-5 and Jeremiah 29:11

God’s perfect will is what He ideally wants for His people: righteousness, obedience, and relationship with Him.

2 God’s General Will

God’s general will refers to his commands and what He expects from people. This includes upholding the commands of His Holy Word, including living righteously, loving others, and accepting salvation through Jesus Christ. It is revealed in scripture and applies to everyone.

Scriptures

1 Thessalonians 4:3, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Micah 6:8, John 6:40

God’s general will be accessible to all and does not depend on individual circumstances- it’s found in His word and is about how all people should live.

3 God’s Permissive Will

God’s permissive will refers to what God allows to happen, though this may not be His ideal or perfect desire. He permits human choices, even sinful ones, without violating your human free will. Yet He still works through them to accomplish His ultimate purposes.

Scriptures

Romans 8:28, Genesis 50:20, 1 Samuel 8:6-9

God’s permissive will acknowledges human freedom. He may allow choices that are outside His perfect will, but He still maintains sovereignty and can redeem even the worst situations.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, help me to know and discern the difference between your perfect, general, and permissive will. Father, I repent for every time I stepped outside of your perfect will. Lord, deliver me from the consequences of the decision I made as a result of my permissive will. Father, I pray to wash me in your living waters and the blood of Jesus Christ. Father, refresh my soul from the brokenness of my disobedience in Jesus’ Name, I pray, amen.

Transition

Ever feel like you finally get a hang of life and its course, only to be hit with a surprise crossroad that shifts you into a world of decisions and the very thing you thought you finally had control of you no longer could handle? Sounds familiar?

This is Transition. When you think you have mastered Transition on one level, there is always another level that awaits your discovery. God is amazing and He is full of surprises. There is absolutely nothing that takes Him by surprise concerning you but there are times when He allows unexpected shifts which are a surprise to you. I have learnt to welcome every shift as an indication that my journey is speeding up and it means that I am getting closer to my destination called There. Everytime a car has to change gears it allows the car to move at a faster speed. Your ability to shift accelerates your journey.

Transition is your vehicle that ushers you to your place called There. Everytime there is a shift, and a sudden change it means that you are arriving closer to your destination. Everytime life throws a curveball it just means you need to shift. If you experience sudden betrayal or sudden separation of a longstanding relationship that is just destiny disguised as a heartbreak. Trust what the Holy Spirit is doing in this season.

Romans 8v28 states that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose (Amplified Version). The good the bad and the ugly are all working out for your purpose. I was listening to an interview with Pastor Keion Henderson and Dr Matthew Stevenson and Dr Stevenson stated that “Change either happens to you or through you”.

I truly believe the difference is in those who allow themselves to go through the many processes and shifts that life has to throw at oneself, to those who allow themselves to go through this process, are the ones that are used as vessels of change but to the one who refuses change ends up being on the dark side of Change.

The darkside of change is where you end up dealing with the harsh consequences of change. In a crisis, you can tell the difference between those who are prepared and those who were ill prepared. Crisis is only seen as crisis by those who fail to discern the times and prepare. Crisis is seen as an opportunity by those who choose to prepare ahead of the crisis. Look around the world and look at the response to our present crisis. I truly believe that our response is determined by our ability to prepare. Preparation precedes response.

In transition, your preparation will precede your response. Your preparation to be flexible with the curveball of change will determine your ability to navigate through the many stages of transition.

Once you learn the simple principle of ebb and flow (that is knowing when to respond and when to be still), then the many shifts that accompanies Transition will be welcomed as an opportunity rather than a crisis.

Overlooked

Have you ever felt overlooked? You work hard but it just seems like you are constantly being overlooked.

The definition of overlooked is ‘the failure to notice something’. Throughout my teenage years and early adulthood, I always felt overlooked and have encountered much rejection. For a long time I took it personal but it dawned on me as I started to reflect on the journey I have taken to get to this place called there, I realised that my season of being overlooked was actually a season of preparation in disguise. Those moments where you make mistakes and even achieve great things and nobody notices is an incubator for greatness. That is the place where God covers you and allows you to trial and error without drastic and severe consequences and without you being noticed. The mistakes you make in the spotlight and the mistakes you make in your season of being hidden yields different consequences, one impacts a community the other only impacts you.

Being overlooked is an opportunity to prepare. The decisions you make today will determine the opportunities you experience tomorrow in your season of being overlooked. The next time you feel overlooked, use that opportunity to PREPARE. This is not the time to be bitter or hold back, continuing ploughing until your season of exposure is here. Study more, pray more, exercise and get healthy and in due time when opportunity knocks you will be ready to take on the challenge that comes with your new level.

The Unemployed Graduate

Graduating from University was a huge achievement for me, firstly because I was the first in my immediate family to graduate and secondly I had to overcome a lot of emotional, mental and physical barriers in order to wear that gown on that amazing day called ‘Graduation’. I was on cloud nine and there was nothing anyone could tell me that could prevent me from dreaming and expecting for my great future. Just 2-4 weeks later reality had hit home I need a job!!!!!! I started applying and I started looking at different things that I could do; I mean my University boasted about 60% of its graduates got a job within 6 months of graduating so I was hopeful and after all I was only 2 weeks in to unemployment. What I had not anticipated was that I was going to be unemployed for seven months. Every interview I was invited to, their response was ‘you’re overqualified’. By November I had enough.

But there was hope, seven months later after I had graduated, I started a new role in HR and I was excited as it had some relevance to what I had studied at University but just one year later I became unemployed again because the contract was only for a year and that season continued for another 3 years and 9 months. The purpose of this article is to encourage those of you who are facing unemployment. It is to let you know that you are in one of the best seasons of your life- How so? I hear some of you ask?

You see in those three years and nine months God blessed me to start my own movement Release Me where I facilitated workshops and God blessed my mind and hands to write and self publish my first book and so many opportunities came out of that. Sometimes what we think is rejection is actually God’s way of redirecting our paths to places and opportunities that we could have never thought of by ourselves had we not walked through this way of our process. I don’t despise those seasons of unemployment- God used it to mould me into the woman that I am today and He allowed me to discover parts of me that I never knew existed. So here are a few spiritual and practical tips as to how I overcame my season of unemployment.

Prayer– everything for me starts with prayer because that is how you communicate with God- Communication with God is a dialogue not a monologue- there were moments during my season when I prayed and I had to wait for God to respond. Sometimes He responded straight away, other times it took Him a while because He saw a head of time what He was getting ready to do for me. Many times, His answers were either Yes, No, Not yet or just pure silence. When God responded in silence, I realized He wanted me to apply what He had taught me in my last season. God does not allow you to go through anything He has not equipped you for. I realize He was preparing me for that season six years before it happened. Prayer provides the map to the route God wants to take you on. Even though I was unemployed, God through prayer led me to opportunities that would yield provision for those hard seasons.
Obedience- with prayer comes instructions and with God’s instructions, He expects us to be obedient to His instructions. Your miracle and breakthrough is hidden in the last instruction that God gave you. There were many instructions that God gave me and even though I tried to be obedient to everything I heard (I didn’t always get it right), half the things He told me to do didn’t make sense but now as I am in the promise Job (He showed me my current role in 2010), I realize all of the instructions were necessary and they were forming me for the position I am in right now.
Purpose- Knowing your purpose and what you are called to do is important. Purpose fuels passion. When you have a deep sense of purpose, there is a passion that is formed in you and as you go through your journey, your passion and journey will start to become visible to others who will want to explore what is about you. Opportunities chase the Passionate and the purpose driven individual. The more passionate and purpose driven you are, the more opportunities God will start to release to you.
A Good Attitude– Never turn down an opportunity because you don’t think its ‘good enough’ or because it does not match your ideal role. I accepted many roles that were beneath my potential and pay grade but I humbled myself and learned what I had to from each opportunity. Smile through it and remain thankful- God is watching your attitude- He is looking at how you handle the small opportunities. So that in due season He can elevate and promote you.
Sowing– there are a lot of debates about whether you should tithe or give offering especially when you are unemployed- I truly believe that tithing comes with revelation. The revelation I received was to remain faithful even in the small. If you can be faithful in the little- God will make you ruler over much- Matthew 25v23 and Luke 16v10. Even if I only had £10 I had a strong conviction to sow at least 10%. Even when I got my first full time job after such a long period of unemployment, I had to survive off £950 per month, and out of that God encouraged me to sow. And every month God supplied my needs, I never went without food and clothing. No one could have thought that that’s all I was bringing home every month. Before my bills, I gave my tithe and offering, I believe in the principle of first so before I gave anyone else my money I gave it to God first, it was a way of consecrating my finances and God always stretched it. I would have to do another article on the principle of sowing and tithing- God used this principle to shatter glass ceilings over my life. It is not by my works but every instruction in this area I had honoured, and God came through for me.
Sign up with as many agencies as possible– A very practical principle- sign up with multiple agencies (Morgan Hunt, Brook Street, Reed, Adecco). I have learnt that the jobs market is about numbers, the more jobs you apply for the more chance you have of getting a job. Sitting at home praying all day is not enough this is where you apply works to your faith. How many CVs have you submitted? the rejections will make you weary but you have to push, press and persevere through all of that because your promise is on the other side of the rejection. I applied for over 1500 jobs, possibly 2000 in the space of two years until I gave up. The permanent role which I hold now came through an agency. Be creative and speak to friends and family. My first permanent job came through my landlady who lived across the road from me.
Managing the balance between Instinct and Intellect– To understand more about this I will encourage you to read Bishop TD Jakes’ book called INSTINCT. A huge mistake I made after graduating from University is I thought that it was all about my intellect, there was a bit of pride and ego at work hence the intense process. God had to strip me of that mindset. I walked around thinking I was entitled to get a job because I completed a law with psychology degree I mean who wouldn’t want me? that was a poor attitude and I realized even where I am now- that employers value a person that can think and act with instinct and bring forth a solution that can yield results for his or her company. It always baffled me why people who never went to school were doing better than me- God taught me it is because they know how to think and move with instinct. They don’t just know theory but they know how to convert it into practical solutions. If you can get this, then you are on your way to your promotion. The day I caught this revelation, is the day my life started to change.

There are so many more principles that I would like to share but it is my prayer that as you obediently apply these principles that God will begin to open up doors that eyes have not seen and ears have not heard 1 Corinthians 2v9. May God shatter those glass ceilings of limitations and may He release miracles signs and wonders in your life as you obey the instructions of the Lord. Managing The Season of Nothing’s Happening

For ten years I had to deal with many lows as well as highs and watching what God has done over the last few months (video of my testimony is coming soon), I am led to share a few nuggets of wisdom of how to make it through the seasons of ‘nothing’s happening’. Have you ever found yourself in a place where you are asking God- Lord what are you doing? you almost want to take over the steering wheel of your life and show God how its supposed to be? I have been there so many times and I have even taken the steering wheel from God- because He doesn’t force His perfect will, He stood back and I ended up with a lot of broken bones and bruises- the beauty of God’s love is that He was waiting right there with open arms to nurture me and heal me and redirect and reroute me back to my original place in Him. God is calling you back to that original place of surrender.

It took over nine years for me to learn to be still in the seasons when it seems as if nothing is happening or every dream is about to die. I had failed to recognize that there was an appointed time for every dream and prophetic word to come to pass in my life (I am living in the reality of some of those dreams right now- to God be the glory).

So what do you do when it seems as if God has forgotten His word over you. Here are a few things that helped me through those seasons of hardship and the season of ‘Nothing’s Happening’;

Rest– Resting in God comes with trust and faith and this takes time. In the beginning of my transitional journey but in the middle (that’s the hardest part), this word annoyed me. For me, I found it impossible to rest when all hell was breaking loose in my life such as unemployment, rejection, threat of homelessness, unpaid bills and everything else was coming against me all at the same time. When friends and confidants would say be still it really frustrated me until I stepped into the revelation of what it truly meant to rest in God. As long as I was up trying to figure everything out, that’s when God would step back. I was spending most days hustling trying to find a job and nothing was happening. After being still in the presence of God, I started living out Hebrews chapter 4 without noticing- One evening when I was in an ‘opportunity chasing mood’- the Holy Spirit led me to do something fun and it was nothing to do with work. After being obedient- the Holy Spirit touched the heart of a sister and she released £100 into my account. Another occasion after another moment of serious disappointment , the Lord told me to explore a new area and record an encouraging video, within that same hour another woman of God released £100 to me. Resting in God is not laziness- when you rest in God you are saying God I am letting go off of every idea and I am placing my needs in your hands with the confidence that you are going to fix it- it takes faith to truly release to God and wait for Him to release divine strategies as to what to do or not to do next. When I look at my life now- I think I should have rested more because God knew all along that I would get to where I am now. All I had to do was rest in Him; Instead I stressed out and allowed anxiety to get in and as a result I spent the first few months of my new season recovering from stress related sickness due to all the anxiety and the worrying I encountered through my low season but God was still faithful to bring my dreams into manifestation. Now that I have learnt and I am still learning how to rest in God, things are happening quickly, doors are opening with almost no effort. I think it and if it is according to His will- God provides it. Rest comes with having faith and your faith is developed through reading the word of God and spending time in His presence.

Worship– God has been unraveling worship to me throughout this year. Worship does not just happen on a Sunday. Worship is not confined to a Sunday Service. It is that uninterrupted moment between you and the Heavenly father- whether its through singing, dancing praying. Worship is an antidote for the pressures of life. Singing was a form of therapy for me. After suffering closed doors one after the other, I would come home feeling deflated and the Holy Spirit would whisper- just sing- sometimes the pain was so intense I would end up crying whilst singing but after I get into it- the weight I carried throughout the day would just life and from that experience God would start to unravel the revelation behind every closed door.

Dream– you have to fight to keep the dream alive- Dreams are powerful. As long as you can keep on dreaming in the midst of adversity, there is nothing that the enemy can do to take you out. Never underestimate your ability to dream. If you can still see the future even in the midst of disappointment and hopelessness I promise you, you will come forth as pure gold. There is an expiration date on your process and season of ‘Nothing’s Happening’. After months and years of disappointments, I fought for my ability to dream- and after every dream I would write down these dreams and release it to God. Dr Mike Murdock says it best- Imagination is your ability to pre-play the future but a memory replays your past. Where is your focus as you are reading this? Even if something disappointing happened 10 minutes ago, is your focus on the past or is your focus on the future- if you can see the future, you are unstoppable.

Plan– It is not enough to just dream through the hardship but in those quiet seasons, plan for the manifestation of your dream. That is the purpose of the ‘Nothing’s Happening’ season. That is where you plan and prepare for the promise. What is that dream home going to look like- what is the colour scheme. What outfits will you wear to your new job? (90 % of the time when I left my house I dressed like I was going to work in my seasons of unemployment). What does your budget look like when you start to make that dream money? In 2016, I created a ‘dream budget’ of how I would spend and invest my money when I started getting a steady income. How will you treat that man of God when God releases Him to you (ladies?) or how will you treat that woman of God when God releases her to you (men?) It is easy and free to dream but it costs to birth that dream into manifestation and it all starts with prayerful planning. The key to seeing manifestation is plan and prepare- God will not release to you what you desire if you are not spiritually, physically, emotionally or psychologically ready for the promise (this is for every dream- not just a man/woman).

I have so much more nuggets to share but for now, I will leave you with these. For every reader who will take time to read this, it is my prayer that God will give you staying power to complete your process because at your appointed time, you will come forth as pure gold. Your Movement Has A Sound

Towards the latter part of December 2017, I kept hearing the Holy Spirit say, ‘Your Movement has a sound’. ‘Your purpose has a sound’. ‘Your obedience has a sound’. Every time you obey God and every time you say yes, a sound erupts from glory and an alarm is sent from Heaven to Earth and to Hell. Often times when you set out to do what God has instructed you to do, you are often met with opposition, do you know why? It is because your movement has a sent a sound to hell and in response to your purpose the enemy sent opposition to stop you from fulfilling your purpose. What some people do, they give up and they stop. I have done this so many times over the past few years. But last year in 2017, God taught me to push and Move with the instructions no matter how much opposition I experienced and now God is moving on my behalf. Every time you meet opposition and you choose to move ahead in boldness, God releases a sound that will cause Hell to cease its opposition. Read 2Chronicles 20v22, this is the position that God requires of us this year. Your worship is a symbol of honour to Him. In the midst of opposition, praise and worship is your greatest weapon. This year, every time you feel intense warfare or as I call it labour pains, just sing and praise.

I truly believe God is saying in this season that the enemy will not be able to stop you in your next decision to move because this time God is sending the sound of chariots and horses and a great army ahead of you according to 2 Kings 7v5. No more will you feel alone or defeated, because God is sending special enforcement of angels to help you carry out the assignment that will set both you and those around you free. Your movement will feed a people and deliver a people from spiritual famine and bondage. Don’t take it lightly that new and innovative ideas are coming to you inn this season. Everything that the Lord commands you to do, do it in obedience and watch Heaven move on your behalf.
